The Fort Worth City Council will vote on a four-year collective bargaining agreement for firefighters and emergency medical services personnel. The deal includes across-the-board wage increases, incentive pay and overtime provisions, and the firefighters' union voted on the terms last week. The vote affects pay terms for city emergency responders over the four-year contract.

The Fort Worth City Council will vote on October 13 on selling four city-owned downtown properties. Jun Crown Properties offered $4.3 million for all four sites, which sit near Texas A&M-Fort Worth and the Convention Center. The buildings became surplus after the move to the new city hall, so the vote decides their ownership.

TEXpress Highways finished the North Tarrant Express Capacity Improvement Project, a $414 million expansion, months ahead of its original schedule. The work added free and managed lanes along State Highway 183/121 and Loop 820 between Euless and Fort Worth. The added lanes aim to improve mobility along those roads for drivers.

Local higher education leaders will meet with business and community figures at the 2026 State of Higher Education Forum. Panelists include representatives from Tarrant County College, Tarleton State University and Texas Wesleyan University. Organizers want to examine how partnerships between schools and employers help drive regional growth.
