Updated 2026-06-29

_Effective June 29, 2026. Data controller: FutureCraft LLC (Arizona, USA). Contact: [email protected]._

What we keep: your email and a scrambled (hashed) password, your handle and profile, the places you pick as home, roots, and heart, the cultures and languages you choose, anything you post, and basic technical data (IP, browser, a login cookie).

Why: to run your account and the site, to translate content into your language, and to moderate posts so the community stays safe. We don't sell your data and we don't run ad-tracking cookies.

For everyday personal data we rely on: performance of a contract (Art 6(1)(b)) to create and run your account and provide the service; legitimate interests (Art 6(1)(f)) to keep Juncture secure and to moderate content, balanced against your rights; and consent (Art 6(1)(a)) for anything optional you opt into. For sensitive information we rely on your explicit consent (Art 9(2)(a)); see below.

Sensitive information (special category)

Your roots and heart places, and some things you post, can reveal information such as your ethnicity, national origin, religion, or political views. We only collect and use that with your explicit consent, given separately (not bundled into these terms) and withdrawable anytime in Settings, after which we delete that information. This is our legal basis under GDPR Art 9(2)(a).

Who else sees it

These service providers process data on our instructions: our host (Fly.io); the AI services we use to translate and moderate (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google); our email provider (Resend), used for verification and notification emails; and Cloudflare, which provides DNS and a security/proxy layer for the site. Some are in the US; for EU and UK users we rely on standard legal safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and, where available, EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework certifications, for that transfer. We use business AI APIs configured so that providers do not train their public models on your content (or let us opt out) and apply limited retention.

One honest limitation: once content has been sent to an AI provider we cannot retrieve or delete it from any trained model. We track what was sent (an AI processing log), rely on contractual no-train and limited-retention terms, and disclose this limitation.

Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. Sessions, logs, and cached translations are kept for limited periods, then deleted or anonymized on a regular schedule. On account deletion we delete or de-identify your personal data, except limited records we must keep (for example, security or legal obligations).

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you can request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, and a portable export, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can download a copy of your data yourself anytime from Settings, and you can pause AI processing of your content there as well; for anything else, email [email protected]. EU and UK users may also complain to their local data-protection authority. We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information as defined under California law (CCPA/CPRA), and California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct their data via the same address.

Children & changes

Juncture isn't intended for children under 16 (or your local age of digital consent). We use only essential cookies (login/session, preferences); no advertising cookies. For detail see our Cookie policy. We'll post changes here.
