This policy explains what data Juncture ("we") collects and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Account data you provide: name/handle, email, and (for reporters) application details.
  • Preferences stored in cookies: language, theme, units, currency, and your chosen places. These keep the site working the way you set it.
  • Content you submit: reports, comments, posts and messages.
  • Limited usage/technical data needed to run and secure the service (e.g. log data).

We do not sell your personal data and do not run third-party advertising trackers.

How we use it

To operate the service, publish and verify community content, personalise your feed, keep the platform safe, and respond to your messages.

Processors we rely on

  • Anthropic (Claude) — to screen and consolidate submissions for moderation.
  • Open-Meteo — weather for your places.
  • open.er-api.com — currency exchange rates.
  • Google Fonts — currently used to load fonts, which may expose your IP to Google; we plan to self-host fonts to avoid this.

Legal bases (GDPR)

Performance of our service to you, our legitimate interest in running a safe platform, your consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies), and legal obligations.

Retention

We keep data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA), you may access, correct, delete, or port your data, and object to certain processing. To exercise these, contact [privacy@yourdomain].

Children, transfers, changes

The service is not directed to children under [age]. Data may be processed in [country/region]. We'll post material changes here.
