About Juncture
A trusted voice for every community.
Where you live now, where you're from, and the places your people are, all in one place, in your language.
You can name every celebrity scandal and political feud of the week, yet have no idea what's happening on the next street over, or in the town that raised you. Somewhere along the way, the news stopped being about the places we actually live.
Juncture exists to turn that around: away from distant headlines you cannot act on, toward the life of your people in the place you live. Local agency over global anxiety. News at the scale where knowing leads to doing.
Juncture is a community-powered, verified, language-native newsroom built around people, not algorithms. It gives every community a trusted local voice in its own language, while keeping you connected to the other places you care about: where you live now, where you come from, and the places your heart never left.
Real news is created by people, not corporations. Here it's reported by the people who live it, consolidated and fact-checked against standards you can see, so a story is something you can trust before you pass it on. And the people who report it share in what it earns.
Because being informed is only the beginning. Juncture is where you help shape the place you're in now, and stay close to the places that made you.
Where AI belongs
We put AI to work for the people, and only where it belongs. It does not create our news. We use its mechanics and its intelligence to verify, validate, fact-check and gate the news funnel, because a machine's one great gift to journalism is impartiality: at the gate, never at the pen.
That gatekeeper is Nib, our editor-in-chief. Every newsroom needs an editor who never sleeps; ours holds Juncture to its own standards, in the open.
- One event, one story. Nib merges duplicate reports into a single story with every source credited, so you never scroll twenty versions of the same headline.
- Standards you can see. Nib checks each story against our published red-flag rules and hands anything sensitive to human moderators.
- Your language, faithfully. Nib translates stories so they read natively in your language, keeping the original units, currency and meaning intact.
- Never your ghostwriter. Nib does not write your news, bury human reporting, or decide what you should care about. People tell the story. Nib guards the gate.
Our promises
The things we will never do, however big we get: no auto-playing anything, no ads hiding in your reading, no paywalled truth, no dark patterns, and AI that works the gate, never the pen. Read all ten in The Juncture Promises.
How it works
Set your three places: Present, where you live now; Roots, where you come from; and Heart, the places you stay connected to. Read the news through them, widen or narrow your reach, filter by beat, and join the communities where you belong. The full tour is in How Juncture works.
Your privacy, by design
We make money from supporters and clearly-labelled sponsors, never from selling you. No ad-tracking cookies, no selling or sharing your personal data, and sensitive details like your roots are optional, asked for separately, and deletable in one click. Details in the Privacy notice.

Editorial covenant
Every story here is checked before it carries our name. Nib does the checking and shows its reasoning. A human editor makes the final call before anything publishes.

Places are how you read the news. Communities are the rooms you join to belong and post.
How a report becomes verified news
- Many people report
- AI assists review
- Similar reports merged
- One trusted story
The same event is often reported by several people. AI approves clean reports, masks any rule-breaking detail while keeping the news, and sends anything doubtful to a human reviewer, then merges the matching reports into one story that credits every source.
