The Memphis Safe Task Force, led by U.S. marshals, is marking its one-year anniversary in the city. U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said the federal operation has no set timeline to end, with over 300 agents currently in Memphis. Residents should expect the federal presence to continue, since no end date has been announced.

Shelby County Assessor Javier Bailey warned that the county's tax base is shrinking. He said government costs are rising with expensive projects while revenue falls from commercial properties and hotel stays. The assessor said the shrinking tax base could affect county residents as costs continue to rise.

Officials at Briarcrest Christian School released a statement reaffirming the school's commitment to the TSSAA. CBHS and MUS will play football as independents in the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Families and fans of these schools will see both teams compete as independents for two seasons.
