A motorcyclist was taken to Novant Health Regional Medical Center in critical condition after a crash involving a car on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred around 12:50 p.m. at 16th and Church Street, involving a motorcycle and a white Toyota RAV4. The road remains closed until further notice.

Wilmington Police are investigating the death of a man that occurred following a medical emergency during a traffic stop Wednesday night. Officers stopped a vehicle on Wrightsville Avenue after noticing an expired registration and found suspected cocaine inside. Despite treatment from emergency personnel, the man died.

The Wilmington Police Department charged Quintell Green Jr., a 22-year-old from Wilmington, following an investigation into the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Jaysir Kamar Price.
