Carolina Mall Cinema 8 closed its doors on Monday after serving the community for almost five decades. Management announced the closure through a social media post on September 28th. The cinema, which first opened in 1976, was most recently operated by Southeast Cinemas Entertainment.

Biscuit Belly purchased Biscuit Company spots from Cracker Barrel, with the Concord restaurant at 8921 Christenbury Pkwy. set to transform in late fall 2026. This marks the first Maple Street-to-Biscuit Belly switch in North Carolina. The deal will more than triple the company's size.

The "Blast & Brew" sign at Grant and Salvio in downtown Concord has finally announced a promised opening date. After what appears to be a long wait, the establishment is now slated to open at the end of October. Residents are looking forward to checking out the new spot with a cold drink in hand.
