An overturned school bus blocked multiple lanes of Interstate 465 near East Washington Street as of 10:30 a.m. on September 29. The bus carried three adults and several fifth-grade students, and state police reported no critical injuries. Northbound and southbound lanes were closed, so drivers should plan for delays on this stretch of the interstate.

The Indianapolis Zoo lost its accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums after its renewal application was not approved. The zoo said it is exploring ways to regain status and acknowledged concerns about communication and collaboration. The zoo remains open, so visitors can still plan trips there.

A Consumer Affairs study ranked Indianapolis 47th among 50 major U.S. urban areas for public transportation amenities. The report rated the city's system second-worst for operational safety and third-worst for usefulness. The Hoosier Dome will close its Fountain Square location by the end of December, organizers announced. A new company bought the building at 1627 Prospect St and asked the organization to vacate. The all-ages venue opened in 2010, so local audiences will lose a space that operated for 16 years.
