Parents raised concerns at a September 23 meeting about Atlanta Public Schools closing or repurposing 16 schools. They cited student transportation and inadequate outreach to families under the APS Forward 2040 consolidation plan. The district plans a community hub at one site and better parent communication, which affects families planning ahead.

Georgia Tech opened the Bud & Val Peterson Residence Hall at the start of the fall 2026 semester. The eight-story building has 862 beds, an esports lounge and learning areas, and a sustainable design targeting LEED Gold certification. It is the first new traditional dorm on campus in 60 years, adding housing for first-year students.

Actor's Express announced its 39th season, with five confirmed productions from March 2027 through January 2028. A sixth show will be announced later, and the lineup includes Pulitzer Prize finalists and world premieres by local playwrights. The lineup gives local theatergoers new works by area writers to plan around.
