Burial of 16 Unclaimed Veterans

The nonprofit Final Salute will lay 16 unclaimed veterans to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter on Saturday. This service marks the organization's 100th burial, following a call for help from a Des Moines-based funeral home. The day begins with visitation at Lutheran Church of Hope in Waukee.
